Job Description

A receptionist serves as an organization’s primary point of contact, managing the front desk and ensuring smooth daily office operations. They act as the “face” of the company by greeting guests, answering calls, and handling essential administrative tasks to create a positive, professional first impression. 
A receptionist’s daily responsibilities are generally divided into three main areas:
1. Front Desk & Customer Service
    • Greeting Visitors: Welcoming clients, vendors, and guests, and directing them to the appropriate person or department.
    • Call Management: Operating multi-line phone systems to answer, screen, and route incoming calls, or take detailed messages.
  • Security & Access: Issuing visitor badges, managing sign-in sheets, and following building security protocols. 
2. Administrative Support
    • Scheduling: Managing calendars, booking conference rooms, and setting up meetings or appointments.
    • Mail Handling: Sorting, organizing, and distributing incoming mail, packages, and interoffice memos.
    • Office Maintenance: Ordering and tracking inventory for office supplies, ensuring waiting areas are tidy, and managing courier pickups.

3. Industry-Specific Duties
  • Corporate: May help Human Resources or Operations with interview scheduling and onboarding new hires.
